A goofy perl script for the distributed.net proxy

Posted in Intarweb at 00:04 UTC by Richard

Just yesterday I sat down with Jeff Allen, a good friend I work with, and we created this: http://backslider.net/ogrstats/bugjuice.html. It’s purpose is to parse logs from the distributed.net proxy and create some readable statistics from it. Jeff did most of the perl work since he’s quite a bit more talented with it than I, so kudos to him. We started with source pulled from FreeDCs forums, with alpha’s permission. Here’s the current 0.3.awesome version of the perl code. bugjuice

myspace

Posted in Intarweb at 01:44 UTC by Richard

So my friend Dave called me on my birthday to wish me a happy birthday (August 1 btw) and talked me into making a myspace account which I had never really looked at the site since it’s inception. My interest in the site is regarding the ability to find so many people that I knew back in high school and haven’t seen or talked to since high school, ten years ago! Quite a few of them have myspace pages and it’s all very interesting, finding one of those quiet girls that no one really paid any attention to is now quite the babe and things of that sort.

Don’t steal this guy’s Sidekick II

Posted in Intarweb at 10:10 UTC by Richard

Anyone reading my blog needs to read this: http://www.evanwashere.com/StolenSidekick/ It’s one guys page detailing his quest to publicly humiliate someone who stole a cell phone and refused to return it. This entire situation shows the power of the internet, DO NO SCREW WITH BLOGGERS!
