Craziness abound in religion
Religion is crazy. It is crazy not because of what it is or what it’s purpose is, but because of what crazy things people say or do in the name of their chosen religion. Here’s a quote from the first page of Marilyn Hickey’s book title “Break the Generation Curse.”
One day I counseled with a young woman who was going to divorce her husband. I asked, “Was your mother divorced?”
She said, “Yes.”
I asked, “How many times?”
She answered, “Three.”
“How many children did she have?”
“Four.”
“How many times have you been married?”
She answered, “Three.”
“Do you love your little girls?”
“Oh yes, I love my little girls!”
I said, “Do you know that they’re going to grow up, and they’re going to marry and divorce three times, and they’re going to break your heart because your mother is under a generation sexual curse. She’s been into all kinds of junk. You’re in the same thing; you’re making the same decisions. And you watch–your little girls will too.”
Holy fucking shit. I didn’t go but a few more paragraphs, which I’d quote, but it’s too long and much too stupid. She even uses an example of a christian and an atheist, both male. The christian leads a wonderful life and spawns a family tree of wonderfully successful Americans that help the country. The atheist spawns demon children that create a family tree of failures and blights on America. Way to go cherry picking for the best and worst subjects to prove a retarded point.
The entire point of this book is to sacrifice ones life, even if the marriage sucks or is abusive, to break the “curse” and allow your children to have a better life. Yes, sacrifice to make it better for them, but one should not have to suffer a shitty marriage with a shitty person.
One’s religious belief has little bearing on how shitty a person they become. Good people come from all walks of life and people like Ms. Hickey need to realize this and stop associating non-christians with fire-breathing, evil-doer, satan-possessed demons.
